What do vegans think about the politics?

Numerous works suggest that people who decide to eschew meat and/or animal-based products have also a particular focus about the world. To be more precise on this argument and attempting to provide a commonality within the vegan profile, we could say that this dietary food group is more concerned about many important aspects necessary for common good of all, the people, the planet, and the animals. In accordance with this, vegans tend to be more liberal, possess more humanist point of view, and they try to defend animal rights, social justice. Also, they are less traditional, have less binding moral values, and are more open to new experiences and ideas.

Demographically, we can find them among cohorts of young educated people, being females frequent gender for its adoption. Interestingly, and with a growing expansion of vegan movement triggered by steadily appealing food offer and famous stars engagement, we can find bigger social and cultural variety of vegans. That is great news! Every day more and more people realise how important is their personal contribution to improve life conditions for themselves, the planet, and other nonhuman beings.

Having revised a wealthy amount of scientific literature, we can even find firm statements on vegans' political orientation. Well, it is kind of obvious that people who defend the environment, the rights of the disadvantaged and abused, people who try to live more compassionately and reduce their contribution to global exploitations of numerous beings, are also less conservative or right-winged. This is certainly something we could expect since their behaviour is infused with psychological traits that mirror individuals with a completely different way of being. And yes, generally vegans are more liberals or left-winged, or simply people who believe that world should be a safe and fair place for everyone.

Hopefully, this trend on veganism will eventually come to stay.
